No Sand Castles Here, This is Africa!

from Elliott
We took a little family time and went to the beach recently. We were amazed by what we saw...

The beach had been invaded by wild animals! Instead of the typical sand castles one might find on an American beach, there were five near life size animals made of sand. There was a rhinoceros, cheetah, gorilla, lion and a dolphin. They were amazing in their detail and likeness. The cheetah even had spots and the lion a mane. Unfortunately, we did not have our camera!

Turns out that there a group of traveling 'sand artists' that had been in Port Edward earlier. They work for tips and then move on down the coast.

We saw some similar 'artists' in Rio when we were in Brazil for cross cultural training two years ago - although there we saw likenesses of celebrities (Michael Jackson and others) and scantily clad females (which were similar to the ones that were actually walking around on the beaches!)
