Easter by the Sea

from Katherine
Cason and I attended the sunrise Easter service in our town while Elliott was visiting his father. The location was a place called 'Splash Rock', which is so named because when the waves crash against the rock huge sprays of water are sent flying into the air. It is really quite a sight. it is also a great place to fish, we are told. While we were having the service there were 50 or more anglers trying their luck Easter morning.

All the local pastors take part in the service. Our new friend, John Pretorius, pastor of the Methodist Church, talked about Jesus walking by the sea and seeing the fishermen and smelling the charcoal fires on the shore. I could picture Jesus in my mind and then John said that his sons had prepared a charcoal fire and were cooking fish for everyone at the service and there was fresh bread donated by the local market - loaves and fishes!

I could see Jesus and the Disciples sharing the meal and watching the sunrise over the sea, listening to the waves breaking and smelling the delicious aroma of fresh baked bread and roasting fish.

What a way to celebrate our risen Lord. Thank you, Jesus!
